The last few years had witnessed an increasing number of registered pharmaceutical and drug manufacturing plants and indeed many applications are submitted to the concerned Drug and Poison Directorate of MoH for approval. This necessitates the advancement in all the manufacturing sites and the use of high technologies to obtain a quality product. This increase in pharmaceutical firms also requires parallel technological advancement in its quality assurance/control laboratories as in the regulatory authority laboratories. All these functions pertaining to pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality assurance/control cannot be achieved without the employment of highly qualified pharmacist. The programme has been developed to meet the needs of diverse groups: those in the pharmaceutical industry who need to upgrade their existing skills and/or acquire new skills and knowledge in other areas of industry, and those contemplating a career change who require relevant knowledge and experience of the pharmaceutical industry.
