Why study with us? The program is designed for pharmacy graduates and other related disciplines seeking career in pharmaceutical analysis and quality assurance. It is also projected for those who are currently employed in the national regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, research centers, or instructors at universities or high education institutes. Medicines for use are required to meet very strict and exact standards which relates to their quality, safety and efficacy. The evaluation of quality, safety and efficacy of drugs and herbal preparations are estimated and measured by the adoption of certified analytical procedures, which this program has adopted. Quality assessment of pharmaceuticals and their formulation is dependent upon the existence of well trained personnel capable of performing all the required analytical and spectroscopic techniques specified in the international pharmacopoeias or the regulatory authorities. Training of these qualified personnel is the main goal of this M.Sc. Program. Candidates enrolled in this program are expected to gain the appropriate scientific knowledge and practical skills that enable them to: i. Gaining the theoretical scientific knowledge, experimental experience and technical talents of how to implement certified official methods of analysis of pharmaceutical and chemical products and their raw materials. ii. Undertaking a critical review of the relevant literature of the field of pharmaceutical analysis and quality control. iii. Understanding the range of methodological possibilities and find out the proper means for their applications by acquiring the appropriate practical and experimental talents and technical skills. iv. Realizing the importance, validity and reliability of the analytical methods and gain the ability in interpreting analytical data results obtained from them. Entry requirements: The program is designed for pharmacy graduates and other related disciplines seeking career in pharmaceutical analysis and quality assurance. Applicants qualify for the programme if they have B. Ph arm. Degree from UMST or its equivalent or honour degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with at least one year work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The applicants shall be interviewed for assessment of their suitability, knowledge and command of English language.
