UMST Participates in 61st International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation

umUMST University’s Pharmacy Students Association (UPSA-SUDAN) is currently taking part in the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF). Held in the city of Hyderabad, India, UMST and the University of Khartoum are the only universities in Sudan to participate in the forum.

The World Congress is the momentous activity of the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation. It is the biggest annual gathering of pharmacy students across the world at one place.

The event runs for 10 days (31 July – 8 August, 2015) and is held in a different country every year, where, Presidents of International Pharmaceutical Students’ Associations, pharmacy students and professionals from nearly 85 countries participate. It serves as a platform to discuss issues related to the field of pharmacy globally, which can help in attaining unification of the pharmacy education across the globe.

Representing UMST is Mohamed Ahmed Babiker, final year pharmacy student and official delegate of the pharmacy students association in the university and the president of the Students Union-Creativity 2014-2015.

The delegates from the university are participating in the general Assembly meeting, as well as the educational, social and cultural activities.

The Congress aims to promote the exchange of ideas,challenges and issues faced by students globally, representing the opinions of pharmaceutical students in discussions with professional, governmental and non-governmental organizations and encouraging full dissemination of scientific and professional knowledge.
