UMST Graduate Research Wins 3rd Place in Student Forum


certUMST Graduate Omar Ahmed Ibrahim Idris (Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences) won third place during his participation in the 17th Creative Students forum in Amman, Jordan this month.

The forum, Student Creations and their role in Local Community Development, was held at the University of Nizwa from 6 to 10 December 2015 under the auspices of The Arab Training Council for Arab University students.

Dean of the Preparatory College, Dr. Siham Mohammed Suleiman participated ascert2 the research supervisor. Omar’s research, Antibiotic effect of camel urine on Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), received third place at the center of scientific research out of 105 researches from various Arab universities. The research was also praised by the jury for the global standard of methodology and methods of scientific research followed.

Omar received a cash prize (US $200) and a certificate from the Arab Council of Arab universities to train students. Supervisor, Dr. Siham also received a certificate from the board and the shield of the University of Nizwa.
