Academic Cooperation between UMST & the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

UMST signed on Saturday the 29th of September a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Italy – to launch the Global MBA Impact in Entrepreneurship with full awareness of its huge impact on the industrial landscape in Sudan. The project was launched with the endorsement of the Italian Embassy in Sudan and the support of the Italian Agency of Cooperation and Development. The occasion, which was held at the Global Conference Center (GCC), was organized under the patronage of Dr Mousa Mohammed Karama, Minister of Industry and Trade.

Dr Abu Al-Bashir, Minister of State at the Ministry of Industry and Trade attended the occasion on behalf of Dr Mousa Karama, and subsequently addressed the meeting. The ceremony was also attended by Professor Hassan Mohammed Ahmed, President of the University, Fabrizio Lobasso, Italian Ambassador in Khartoum, Vincenzo Racalbotto President of the Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development, and Dr. Mohammed Faraj, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration. They invariably provided invaluable information and intelligent insights in their well received deliveries at the meetinging.

They hailed the joint Global MBA program as an opportunity to create a network of cooperation between the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and UMST. In addition to the reputable academic establishments, the project is also supported by the efforts of the industrial communities in Italy and Sudan. And it has been recognized by all participants as the program with its entrepreneurship leaning and orientation will ultimately succeed in creating jobs in both Italy and Sudan.

It is worth mentioning that this initiative is the first and only partnership between the Italian Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and a Sudanese university. Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore by committing efforts and resources to this joint academic venture with the University of Medical Sciences and Technology is fully acknowledging the abilities and capabilities of UMST that set it apart from other Sudanese centers of learning.
