The thesis concerns innovative participatory health system research methods were used in post-conflict South Sudan to investigate access to maternal healthcare and whether the health system is designed for the context. While identifying determinants of access, the study also built research capacity and engaged marginalized women with stakeholders to ensure integrated knowledge translation.
Dr Elmusharaf is a lecturer in Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine and the Population and International Health coordinator at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain. He is the Director of Reproductive and Child Health Research Unit ‘RCRU’ at Graduate College, University of Medical Sciences and Technology (UMST).
