The number of pupils at Ed Babiker Khelwa is around 1200 pupils, and their age ranges from 6 years to 23 years; they are mainly from Darfur states.
A questionnaire was designed for the pupils showing the history of previous infection and jaundice in siblings or parents.
Blood samples are collected (Sera) and examined for (HBSAG) – if the result is positive, the children will be referred to Ibn Sina Hospital for management with follow up.
Those who are seronegative will be vaccinated by HBV vaccine.
