Economic, Social and Environmental Studies students went on a six days trip to Al Dindir National Park, organized by the Department of Environmental Studies. The student’s number was thirty seven and were accompanied by Dr. Maha Abdelgaffar.
The objectives of the trip were as follows:
- To identify biodiversity in their natural habitats at the national reserve.
- To promote the knowledge and advocacy regarding natural resources as considered the basic source of national wealth.
- To identify the legal framework applied at the protected areas in Sudan and its role in combating the consumptive use of resources and consequences as increasing rates of poverty and rural migration to urban dwellings.
- Evaluation of communities living at ecosystems under stress and impacts on their livelihoods.
